Biology Core Curriculum (prior to September 2002)
The core curriculum is substantially
completed in the first two years as recommended below. Many core
curriculum courses are also offered at UNH-Manchester. Students should
discuss selection and sequencing of these courses with their advisor because
deferral of some core courses may be desirable for specific departmental
majors, and the courses chosen may vary slightly depending on the major.
The biology core curriculum satisfies the four University general education
requirements in groups 2 and 3.
Freshman Year

Academic Requirements
Students qualify for a B.S. degree
in biology when they have completed 128 credit hours of courses with a
cumulative 2.00 grade-point average, including University general education
requirements and requirements for one of the four biology options described
below.
The minimum grade acceptable
for courses required by the major is D-. Students who expect to compete
successfully for admission to post-baccalaureate degree programs should
maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 after the end of the
sophomore year.
